Front Cover
Humanoids, Inc., Jan 26, 2021 - Comics & Graphic Novels - 208 pages
The seldom-told true story of France's most famous Nazi Hunters and heroes of the Resistance: The Klarsfelds. For the past fifty years, Beate and Serge Klarsfeld have been hunting Nazis all across the globe. But their story isn't just about justice. It's about love. Beate, a German journalist and activist born in Berlin as the War began; and Serge, a Romanian-born French-Jewish lawyer whose father was deported and killed by the Nazis: a couple brought together by—and tested by—dangerous endeavors. They started out by challenging Nazi propaganda in the 1960s and before they knew it, this vibrant couple had devoted their entire lives to investigating and documenting countless Nazi war criminals and bringing them to justice for their unacknowledged and incomprehensible hate crimes committed decades before. This book was written in partnership with Serge and Beate Klarsfeld.

About the author (2021)

Pascal Bresson was born in Reims in 1969. Driven by drawing since childhood, he decided to start art studies and entered the Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Reims. He began his artistic career at a very young age when he became an illustrator of press articles for the regional daily L'Union at the age of 17. He then published short stories in various fanzines. In 2000, he experienced his first real success with the Poulpia series written with Brice Tarvel and published by Cœur de Loup editions. He then specialized in children's comics. His album, Plus fort que la haine, released by Glénat in 2015, won the Public Grand Prize for Best Album, awarded by the Media group MaxEo. In 2018, he wrote L'Immortelle, an album retracing the life of Simone Veil, from her childhood to her political struggle. The comic was praised by the press and the public.

Born in 1977, Sylvain Dorange studied art under the direction of acclaimed professor, Claude Lapointe (Arts Décoratifs, Strasbourg). He was encouraged to develop his original and naturally poetic graphic style. His first professional works include adaptations of French indie director, Robert Guédiguian’s, movies into sequential arts: Les contes de l'Estaque (EP éditions). He then went on to illustrate Les promeneur du temps, a series of three volumes created with Franck Viale (Poivre & Sel Editions). In 2015, the versatile author created the cover art for singer Sanseverino’s album about the life of French convict, Henri Charrière. From that work, the duo (along with Cécile Richard) created a graphic novel, Sanseverino est Papillon. Also a composer, an animation director and a political cartoonist, Sylvain Dorange shows the range of his exceptional talents in Hedy Lamarr: An Incredible Life. His unique art style gives the graphic novel its mark.
