Tantalizing. . . . Nuclear holocaust, savagery, and space aliens converge on Cleveland in a competent start to a five-part series.” —Kirkus Reviews

A series of electromagnetic pulses brought the world to its knees. But that wasn’t the end, it was just the beginning.

Some who survived turned to Taylor MacPherson, and he has given them hope. After many years, they’ve carved out a bastion of democracy in the sea of chaos that is the post-apocalyptic Earth. His people are proud of what they’ve built. They are free and willing to fight for a new society of rules and order, but can they handle what comes next?
But outsiders were watching.

For thirty years a massive spaceship from the alien Qu’uda’s has been heading for Earth. Our planet would make a perfect new home. The aliens have invested their lives in the search for a new breeding home. They intend to take it all.

About the author (2019)

Born in England, Malcolm Wood came to the USA at age 14. He graduated from Kent State University with a degree in chemistry, then spent two years travelling around the world. After obtaining a MA in economics, he became a registered professional engineer, leading to a career in finance, and later, environmental consulting. He then resumed writing fiction, attended numerous writing workshops and joined the Cleveland Science Fiction Critiquing group (also known as the “Cajun Sushi Hamsters from Hell”), where critiques and comments pushed Malcolm hard to improve his craft. Almost twenty years ago, he formed the West Side Writers Fiction critiquing group, dedicated to writing at a professional level. During this time, he finished twelve novels and a biography of his travels. His activities include obtaining a private pilot’s license and a competition driver’s license. In addition to writing, he has found time to ski, hunt, taste wine and enjoy gourmet food.
