The book is written on the basis of the diary and notes of the corporal of the Austro-Hungarian army František Buzek, recently discovered in his estate. The author of the diary was born in 1887 and worked all his life and actually lived in Vyšehrad. From the First World War to the next 40 years, he wrote his diary full of interesting historical and ethnographic and many mysteries about the history of this important place and the local people. In addition to the history of Vyšehrad, the book also deals with the personality of Cinderella Bilianová, a prominent Czech writer who also spent most of her life at Vyšehrad. Finally, the author talks about the personality of prof. MUDr. Rudolf Jedlička and the history of his (Jedlička) Institute, which since 1913 also inherently belongs to Vyšehrad. The book brings not only unknown or little known facts, but also lessons for us who live in the 21st century.
