This is a classic Byzantine music book (vocal) used in the Vespers and Orthros (Matins) of the Orthodox church. It is the most likely book that an apprentice of the art of Byzantine music will use when is to start learning the craft next to a master. Most senior chanters eventually move to books with more ornamentation in the vocal expression. This book is a great learning instrument for the first five years or so of a chanter's career.
It is well preserved with both Greek text and musical symbols (glyphs) adequately visible for chanting.
