Presents 45 memoirs of Jews now living in Banat, resulting from interviews conducted by ten members of a project instituted by Vultur in 1991 and continuing to this day. Today, there are 400-500 Jews in Banat, who live mainly in Timişoara, Lugoj, and Reşita; many are not originally from this region, but from other parts of Romania, such as Transylvania. There are also references in the testimonies to the pogroms in Bucharest and Iaşi in 1941. There were no deportations from Banat. Pp. 259-296 relate cases of deportation of the Jews from other areas Mauthausen, Auschwitz, Buchenwald, and Dachau. Pp. 297-323 contain accounts of deportation to Transnistria. There are also references in the testimonies to the pogroms in Bucharest and Iaşi in 1941.
